Terms of Service
Last updated June 29, 2026
Welcome to Sippur. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and plain — the same spirit as the app itself.
1. Using Sippur
Sippur delivers one short story a day for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may read, like, and share stories through the features we provide. Please don't attempt to copy, scrape, redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer the app or its story catalog.
2. The stories
The stories are works in the public domain, free for anyone to read. Where a story appears in our own English or Hebrew translation, that translation is our original work. Sharing a story or a quote card through the app's built-in share feature is welcome; please don't reproduce our translations commercially or at scale.
3. Purchases
Sippur is free to download and the first 12 stories are free to read. After that, an optional one-time purchase — "Unlock Sippur" (US$4.99, or the equivalent in your local currency) — unlocks unlimited reading of the whole library, including stories added in the future. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. You can restore a previous purchase from the paywall or Settings; refunds are handled by the app store under its own policy.
4. Your account & data
Sippur works without an account. Your preferences, reading history, and likes are stored on your device. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we'll send one reminder a day at your chosen time, scheduled locally on your device. You can change the time or turn notifications off entirely at any point in Settings.
6. Availability & changes
We aim to deliver a story every day but can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update the app, the catalog, or these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a new "last updated" date.
7. Disclaimer
Sippur is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the app.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
